  • Anti-oxydant
  • Utilité dans la prévention et les traitements adjuvants du cancer [1], sans effet indésirable notable [2], [3], [4]
  • Induction de la détoxication des carcinogènes, activation d’enzymes de phase 2, induction de l’activité NADPH quinone oxydoréductase [5], induction de la glutathion S-transferase [6]
  • Des métabolites synthétisés par la microflore intestinale, les urolithines A and B (hydroxy-6H-dibenzo(b,d)pyran-6-one) , sont proposés comme biomarqueurs de la consommation d'acide ellagique, et possèdent des effets "pro-phytoestrogéniques" [7], ils jouent un rôle dans la réponse anti-inflammatoire [8]
