Propriétés

  • Antibactérien, protecteur vis-à-vis de l'hépatotoxicité induite par le cisplatine, antioxydant et anti-inflammatoire vis-à-vis des neurones et des cellules microgliales, protecteur vis-à-vis de la neurotoxicité induite par le glutamate et les espèces réactives de l'oxygène, il réduit l'expression de la cyclooxygenase-2 et de la nitric oxyde synthase, et peut être un candidat sérieux comme traitement de la maladie d'Alzheimer et d'autres maladies inflammatoires neuronales [1], il induit en outre l'apoptose dans les cellules cancéreuses HeLa [2] et dans les cellules de cancer du sein [3], [4]
