Propriétés de la plante

  • L’icariine et ses dérivés inhibent la phosphodiestérase-5 (PDE5) humaine [3], ce qui peut étayer l’usage traditionnel. L’inhibition a lieu pour les trois isoformes de PDE5.
  • Les composants actifs d'Epimedium, comme ceux d’Astragalus membranaceus et de Radix Puerariae réduisent les déficits cognitifs dans la maladie d'Alzheimer, exercent un effet neuroprotecteur en réduisant la surcharge en fer dans le cerveau, inhibent l'accumulation de plaques β-amyloïdes et peuvent fournir une nouvelle approche pour le développement de médicaments contre la maladie d'Alzheimer [4]
  • Epimedium brevicornum Maxim. prévient la perte osseuse chez la femme ménopausée [5]
  • L'icariine d'Epimedium pubescens augmente la prolifération et la différentiation des ostéoblastes humains [6]
  • Epimedium sagittatum Maxim. est neuro protecteur [7]
