Description et habitat

  • Arbuste érigé, peu garni, au feuillage persistant gris-vert, duveteux, à odeur aromatique et saveur amère, à la floraison rouge écarlate, les fruits sont des gousses translucides aux graines très dures pyrophytes (la chaleur du feu active leur germination)
  • Originaire d’Afrique du Sud

Histoire et tradition

  • Utilisé par les tradipraticiens dans les fièvres, la grippe, comme tonique, pour traiter le cancer et dans les maux d’estomac
