  • Gastroprotecteur, anti-ulcéreux [6]
  • Augmente le passage trans-cutané de drogues à absorption faible, anti-inflammatoire cutané [7], améliore le coefficient de partage de la couche cornée [8], favorise la cicatrisation
  • Agent dépigmentant [9]
  • Inducteur de l'apoptose dans les cellules de gliome malin, activité cytotoxique marquée envers les lignées cancéreuses de poumon (A549) et de côlon (DLD-1) (IC50 18 et 26 u.g/mL) [10], de carcinome hépatique HepG2 [11], inhibe la croissance et la survie de cellules de gliome humain et de rat [12]
  • Antibactérien, vis-à-vis de Staphylococcus aureus, Candida albicans, Candida krusei, Candida tropicalis, même multirésistants [13]
  • Synergique avec les antibiotiques [14]

Effets indésirables

  • Considéré comme très peu toxique en cosmétologie [15], " Generally Regarded as Safe " (GRAS)
    • Le NOAEL du bisabolol serait de 200 mg/kg de poids corporel / jour [3]
  • Interactions avec les cytochromes P450, surtout CYP1A2 [16]
