Propriétés

  • Sédatif et relaxant musculaire [1]
  • Anti-inflammatoire, effet anti-cataboliques dans les chondrocytes humains, pourrait ralentir la destruction du cartilage [2], inhibition de l'interféron gamma et de la production d'IL-4 [3]
  • Puissamment anti-ulcéreux gastrique et duodénal, augmentation marquée de l'activité enzymatique antioxydante, augmentation de glutathion et des facteurs de défense de la muqueuse gastrique, gastroprotecteur [4]
  • Antalgique (chez la souris) [5], diminue la sensibilité à la douleur par augmentation des morphinopeptides endogènes, anesthésiant chez la carpe [6]
  • Les effets antalgiques sont liés à une action sur les récepteurs nociceptifs TRPV1 [7]
  • Synergie anti-infectieuse avec géranial et néral [8]
  • Inhibiteur de la tyrosinase, ce qui entraine une inhibition de la production de mélanine, et une inhibition de l'oxydation de la L-dihydroxyphénylalanine ou l-dopa [9]
