Description et habitat

  • Plante herbacée de 0,15 à 1 m
  • Feuilles ovales longuement pétiolées groupées par deux
  • Fleurs à l’aisselle des feuilles, petit calice velu, corolle blanchâtre à gorge verte
  • Fruit est une baie globuleuse, charnue, rouge vif comme une cerise, enfermé dans le calice parcheminé comme un lampion, de couleur orange vif

Histoire et tradition

  • Appelé “amour en cage”
  • Son nom vient du grec physalis = vessie, d’où la signature pour soigner les infections urinaires
