Description et habitat

  • Grande herbe vivace (1 m) des milieux secs siliceux d’Europe, Amérique, Nord de l’Asie et de l’Afrique
  • Tige rouge violacé, capitules radiés de fleurs jaunes en panicules oblongs
  • De plus en pluis invasive

Histoire et tradition

  • Utilisée au Moyen-Age pour rapprocher les bords des blessures, d’où son nom dérivé de solidare (ou solidum agere) "pour renforcer"
  • Les amérindiens l’utilisaient contre les morsures de serpents à sonnettes (plante "alexitère" : préconisée contre les morsures de serpent)
  • Solidage Solidago canadensis L. et verge d’or Solidago virgaurea sont deux espèces distinctes aux propriétés identiques, elles sont toutes deux à la Pharmacopée Française liste A

  • Antimicrobien, antibactérien [9], [10], activité antibactérienne plus importante sur les bactéries Gram-positives (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus faecalis, Bacillus subtilis) que sur les bactéries Gram-négatives (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa) [11] et antifongique (saponines) [12], [13], [14], activité anti biofilm
  • Antalgique [15], antipyrétique (associé à Populus tremula et Fraxinus excelsior) [16]
  • Anti-inflammatoire [17], surtout en combinaison avec Populus tremula et Fraxinus excelsior [18], [19], [20]
  • Hypouricémiant, anti-inflammatoire, antihypertenseur (flavonoïdes : rutine, acides phénoliques : acide caféique, acide chlorogénique) [21]

  • Une revue de littérature lui attribue des propriétés antioxydantes, anti-inflammatoires, analgésiques, spasmolytiques, antihypertensives, diurétiques, antibactériennes, antifongiques, antiparasitaires, cytotoxiques, antitumorales, antimutagènes, antiadipogéniques, antidiabétiques, cardioprotectrices, antisénescence [32]
  • Une étude Nord-américaine a évalué 1867 extraits végétaux et recherché l’inhibition de l’entrée d’au moins 50 % des virus pour 20 µg/mL, en étudiant la liaison de la protéine spike virale aux récepteurs ACE2 de la cellule hôte, révélant ainsi la puissante activité antivirale sur SARS-Cov-2 des fleurs de Solidago altissima L. (Asteraceae) et de rhizomes de fougère aigle Pteridium aquilinum (L.) Kuhn (Dennstaedtiaceae), cette dernière contenant des hétérosides cyanogénétiques toxiques [33]

  • Usage possible en agronomie :
    • L’huile essentielle de cette plante invasive en Europe et en Asie peut être intéressante comme biopesticide [34]
    • Activité antimicrobienne prometteuse contre des phytopathogènes : champignons post-récolte (Monilinia fructicola, Botrytis cinerea, Aspergillus niger, Penicillium expansum) et bactéries phytopathogènes (Bacillus megaterium, Clavibacter michiganensis, Xanthomonas campestris, Pseudomonas fluorescens, Pseudomonas syringae pv. phaseolicola) [5]
    • Inhibe la croissance de Botrytis cinerea, pathogène de fruits comme la fraise [35]
  • Le chémotype indien possède une activité antibactérienne contre Streptococcus feacalis et Escherichia coli, antifongique plus modérée contre Candida albicans [7], et antalgique [36]
  • Potentialités antitumorales in vitro sur cultures cellulaires [37], lignées cellulaires de cancer du foie, du sein, du col utérin [38]

  • Le léiocarposide est diurétique et anti-inflammatoire, analgésique
  • Les saponosides sont détoxifiants
  • La rutine diminue la fragilité des vaisseaux sanguins
  • La biotransformation, par le microbiote intestinal, de certains composés phytochimiques qui ne peuvent pas traverser la barrière épithéliale intestinale en métabolites de plus petite taille, améliore la perméabilité, le transport et la biodisponibilité de ces composés, sans en modifier les propriétés [39]
